Here is the short review from our client who just returned from Grand Palladium Riviera Resort in Riviera Maya.

Hi Alex

So, everything went well, we enjoyed our vacation, thanks so much for booking it for us. 
So, here is our review of the hotel - we will compare it to Iberostar, since this is what we know the most ;).

So, the best part about the resort was the beach.  The soft white sand, the fish that was swimming right by your feet, clear nice water - gorgeous!  Other than that, we felt that the customer service and overall service was a little worse than at Iberostar.  Many workers didn't speak English, the sink in our bathroom was not draining properly when we arrived (however, someone came by very quickly to fix it once we called them), the safe in the closet was weird where it didn't really have a handle and it was hard to open, and the air conditioning broke once (granted, they took care of it quickly).

The resort is big, and they don't spend that much time with you reviewing the facilities and what you can use there - I guess part of it is our fault, too.  The pool was OK, I thought it could have been bigger.

The drinks were not as good as what they serve at Iberostar (when you went to a nice bar in the lobby, I thought there was more variety).  Overall, the food was comparable to Iberostar's.  The other thing that I didn't like much was that you didn't need reservations at specialty restaurants, and that meant that you had to go there and wait, which was a pain.  We would have preferred to have reservations and know when our dinner was.  But, in general, we feel that specialty restaurants in these places are usually not worth it for the most part, so we were good with buffets :).  We usually are not much into shows, but our daughter liked them.  I guess they were decent :)
