Regensburg
Nuremberg was probably founded around the turn of the 11th
century, according to the first documentary mention of the city in 1050.
Imperial Nuremberg is often reffered to as having been the unofficial capital
of the Holy Roman Empire, particulry because Reichstage (Imperial Diets) and
courts met at Nuremberg Castle. Many war criminals were brought before the
courts for their involvement in the Holocaust; during your scenic tour, you
will have an opportunity to stop at the Military Tribunals and walk through the
old part of the city for approximately 1 hour.
Passau
A 90 minute drive will take you to Salzburg, the birthplace
of Mozart. Your first stop will be the Hohensalzburg Fortress, from which you
then continue to the cathedral, the Frenciscan church, St. Peter’s Monastery,
as well as Mozart’s birthplace in Getreidegasse (the Residence, its magnificent
State Rooms, and the Mirabel Gardens. Enjoy lunch and some free time afterwards
to explore the city center.
Melk
First travel through the wonderful Wachau sceneary and along
the Danube to arrive at the Bendectine abbey in Melk. The abbey, enthroned on a
200 ft high rocky outcrop above the town and the Danube, is one of the greates
Baroque buildings in Europe. An extensive visit forms the highpoint of you tour
before going back on board in Melk.

The tour takes you along the Ringstrasse with its magnificent buildings, such
as the State Opera House, the Museum of Art History, the Museum of Natural
History, Parliament and many other interesting spots such as the stock exchange
and memorials of many famous poets and authors. The tour concludes at the
Belvedere Gallery and Gardens, home to some of the most renown art in the
world, such as Gustov Klimt’s “the Kiss”.
Additional Excursions
include a Strauss concert in the Kursalon, tour of the famous Schonbrunn
Castle and a nighttime tour including dinner at some of Vienna’s top
restaurants.
