Looking for a great spot to take a week off and enjoy the tropical climate? Dominican Republic is your answer! With warm weather, beautiful beaches, and an abundance of awesome activities, Dominican Republic will keep everyone occupied, and wanting to stay for more!
Dominican Republic is located in the Caribbean, sharing the other half of the island with Haiti. Dominican Republic is known to have gorgeous beaches, and by visiting it, you’ll be able to confirm that! The sand is sparkling white and clean, and the best feeling is being able to squiggle your toes in the sand. The water itself is worth the whole visit. The water is always a comfortable temperature, a nice 74 degrees Fahrenheit. There is a constant, light breeze blowing, and it’s very peaceful and calming. It’s so beautiful there, be sure to take a picture of the sun setting over the ocean!

There are also many activities to do there to keep you busy. At the beach, you can play beach volleyball all day. There are always games going on, and you can always just easily jump into one! There is also beach soccer. Like volleyball, there’s always a game going on, and everyone is very nice and friendly toward newcomers! If you like the ocean, you can rent a sailboat, a catamaran, or a canoe for an hour. Or, you can pay to use a banana boat, as I did. A motorboat pulls the banana boat, which is designed to flip over while zooming through the water! It is so much fun, and an extraordinarily fun experience for the whole family! If you aren’t the “moving” type, there are other activities for you to enjoy. Some of the activities range from Bingo Bongo, to Archery, to Dance Party. All the activities are led by the entertainers working there, and all of them are sure to make you have a great time! No matter what the activity, I guarantee you and your family won’t forget it!

The food there is also very tasty. Since Dominican Republic is an island, there is a constant abundance of seafood. It depends what day it is, because different type of food is served on different days. When I was there, there were many different types of seafood, like, shrimp, sushi, salmon, etc. If you aren’t into seafood, they have other varieties of food. They have pizza and pasta (which everyone loves), potatoes, sandwiches, and much more. You are guaranteed to find something you enjoy. They also have many delicious desserts! These desserts can include flan, chocolate cake, fresh fruit, and many more tasty treats.  There is so much to choose from, and so little time! You and your family will definitely be full after the first meal!
Dominican Republic offers many attractions and excursions that are very popular to tourists. If you are an adventurous type, they offer zip-lining, swimming with sharks, and exploring the island while riding segways. There are also excursions such as exploring Santa Domingo, the capital, and learning about the culture. These excursions don’t cost too much, and are always day trips. Be sure to go on one!
From luxurious beaches, to exciting activities, to tasty food, and great day-trips, the Dominican Republic has it all! Book a trip this year, you won’t regret it!
